Took a 7-1 and 7-2 quiz today. No homework tonight. The kids seem to very interested in politics. They ask me all the time, "How do I know what I am?" SOOOOOO, tomorrow we are going to do a web survey and see just where we individually fall into the political spectrum of Conservative/Liberal and Authoritarian/Libertarian.
It will not say "You are a Democrat or Republican". It will answer it in the form of a X Y axis graph if they are conservative or liberal and if where on the scale they fall between libertarian and authoritarian. This also hits right on with one of our state standards on discussing the making and changing of American political parties. Please complete page 242 # 1A 2B 3B for tomorrow. We will be talking about the differences between Jefferson's view and Hamilton's view of government. The kids may be asked how this may apply today. This would be a great time to talk to them about politics and political parties that parents know about.
Study your 7-1 notes for tomorrow. 7--1 Notes See you in the morning!
Don't forget it is club day in 2 days,. Thursday the 21st is Club Day! If you check the online gradebook, you will see checkmarks. Those show if the student performed as expected on the Bill of Rgihts quiz. If there is no check mark, they need to retake it this week until it is correct.
We introduced Ch7-1 today. Please read it tonight if that has not been done yet. Took a test today over Chapter 6. Many seemed to do quite well. Very pleased.
They are to read Ch7 Section 1 for Monday. |
