There will be a retake/test corrections opportunity on Monday. They need to do it Monday, because my grades are due on Wed. Therefore, it must be turned in on TUESDAY.
Tonight, they have to read Chapter 5-1 and for the in-class assignment that if they want to get ahead for Monday, they can do it this weekend. I will not MAKE them do THE WORKSHEET over the weekend, but I do need 5-1 READ. You asked for it so here it is: Here are all the notes for 3-5 through 4-4 TO HELP WITH STUDYGUIDE 3-5 NOTES 4-1 NOTES 4-2 NOTES 4-3 NOTES 4-4 NOTES TIMELINE FROM CLASS THAT YOU CAN USE LATER. CHAPTER 3-4 AND ALL OF 4 TEST ON FRIDAY TEST FRIDAY SEPT 23RD!!!!!!! CHAPTER 3-5 AND ALL OF CHAPTER 4 Today we finished 4-4, the end of the Revolution. We talked about the reason why the British invaded the south, the partisans like F. Marion (Swamp Fox) and the defeat at Yorktown, and Treaty of Paris 1783, the change in boundaries of the US. Here is the Study Guide for the test. IT IS DUE THURSDAY TOTALLY DONE! Tomorrow, we are going to have a timeline of the major events so we can see the cause and effect of what happened. Any time left over will go to the kids to work on their study guide. It needs to be finished at home tomorrow night. Today we talked about why the British invaded the Southern Colonies. We also received notes for 4-4, they chose between two primary documents to look at and a chapter summary. Notes 4-4 Choose one Crisis Green's Letter Finished the 4-3 notes today with Valley Forge, European help and John Paul Jones and George rogers Clark.
NOTES They have a quiz tomorrow over notes, people, battles and other vocab from 4-3. Here is the vocab worksheet they need to do. It will help. They also received a packet of flash cards too. Here they are. We watched two video clips today after the bell ringer. This was to reinforce yesterday's information so we can move on to Valley Forge, the war in the West (GRC) and the war at sea (JPJ) The first one deals with some of Saratoga and our military tactics. The second one shows information about New York, Trenton, and Princeton. All in 1776 Finish the worksheet for this evening. #8-13. It is attached to YESTERDAYS blog entry. Today we attempted to get to the battle of Saratoga, the turning point of the war. Some did not get there because they did not read and some did not get there because they would not discuss the information as a class.
They all do have a worksheet this evening. They are to do #1-7 for tomorrow. Here it is. If they would like, it is OK to do the entire worksheet. Use the book. As a reminder, class participation is a must in US History. Much of the information requires open discussion, and question and answer. All students need to attempt to participate daily so that I can take an informal assessment of what they do and don't understand. 2nd period will have an assessment over some of the information from 4-3 tomorrow so I can better understand where they are in their leaning process. It will have a word bank and a narrative to fill in with the appropriate words so I can assess where they are. |
