TEST MONDAY OVER CHAPTER 10
Discussed the homework and talked about why Jackson killed the 2nd National Bank. They got notes. 10-2Notes There was a small reading the could do. Here is one option Reviewed Tariff of Abominations and The Nullification Crisis. Moved on to talking about the 2nd Bank of the US and how Jackson went on to kill it.
Tonight they are to do the Primary Source Reading and also do the two political cartoons. They are below. Be ready to answer the question of, "Was Jackson right in killing the bank?" Primary Source Reading Cartoon 1 Cartoon 2 We talked about Nullification and the Tariff of Abominations today and went over the questions from the reading assignment. They were also given two worksheets to go over 10-2 and the vocab from there. They are below. Reading Vocab paper We also watched the first 20 minutes of this History Channel video on Jackson Today the students received notes on 10-1 with a focus on Jacksonian Democracy. We talked about how voting rights were increased under Jackson. We also did a vocab sheet. You will find the vocab words we went over, with synonyms and antonyms for the words, they may not have heard before.

We then moved on to the elections of 1824 and 1828. Finish the questions on the back page of the packet for tomorrow. Here it is. Today they did scheduling for the high school. If they were absent, they can go on Thursday with Mr. Phipps's class or see Mrs Woodward or Mrs Schneider to get it done if he doesn't have a class at that time (7th period).
Tomorrow is a Catch-up Day AND they are doing a Missouri Compromise assignment for the next day. |
